CIDB SO: Water supply and drainage for buildings

What the SO class covers, and what a grading like 6SO lets you bid for.

What SO means

SO is a CIDB class of work meaning Water supply and drainage for buildings. Wet services and plumbing within buildings: water supply, drainage, sanitaryware, geysers and associated pipework. If you are a plumbing contractor bidding on government work, SO is usually the class you need.

On a tender you will usually see the grade and class written together. A requirement of 6SO means Grade 6 in the Water supply and drainage for buildings class. You are graded separately in each class you register for, so you can hold a high grade in one class and a low grade in another.
