What PE means
PE stands for Potentially Emerging. It is a status on the CIDB Register of Contractors, not a class of work. It lets a qualifying contractor tender one grade above the grade they actually hold, on contracts that have been specifically flagged for contractor development.
So a Grade 3 contractor with PE status can bid on a Grade 4 contract when that contract is designated for emerging contractors, with support to grow into the higher grade. It does not raise your grade generally, and it does not apply to ordinary tenders.
