What GB means
GB is a CIDB class of work meaning General Building. Building work: new structures, additions, alterations and refurbishment of houses, schools, clinics, offices and other buildings. This is the broadest class and the one most building contractors register in.
On a tender you will usually see the grade and class written together. A requirement of 6GB means Grade 6 in the General Building class. You are graded separately in each class you register for, so you can hold a high grade in one class and a low grade in another.
What each GB grade lets you bid for
