What EP means
EP is a CIDB class of work meaning Electrical Engineering — Infrastructure. Electrical infrastructure outside the building envelope: overhead and underground reticulation, substations, transformers, street lighting and high-voltage work.
On a tender you will usually see the grade and class written together. A requirement of 6EP means Grade 6 in the Electrical Engineering — Infrastructure class. You are graded separately in each class you register for, so you can hold a high grade in one class and a low grade in another.
