About this tender
PetroSA seeks an accredited medical waste collection, transportation, and disposal service provider for its Mossel Bay GTL Refinery and offshore FA Platform, with capability to service other business units; provider must be DEAT-licensed, ensure compliance with NEMWA and SANS 10248-1, provide compliant vehicles with hazard decals, issue destruction certificates, and maintain contingency plans.

What you need to qualify for this tender
- • Response to requests within 5 working days
- • Collection from GTL Refinery on as-needed basis
- • Safe transportation with SANS hazard decals and internal spill kits
- • Incineration and disposal at authorized facility
- • Certificate of destruction within 7 days per facility
- • Compliant temporary storage facility at GTL Refinery
- • Waste manifest/consignment note signed by clinic and transporter
- • Separate certificates for each business unit
- • Compliance with National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act 59 of 2008)
- • Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993)
- • Biohazard symbol displayed on transport vehicle
- • Vehicle contingency plan in place with knowledgeable operator
- • Appropriate segregated containers (green for medication, red bags/boxes for body fluids, sharp containers)
- • Vehicle restricted to medical waste only during transport
- • Vehicle disinfection with mycobactericidal agent
- • Audit availability for compliance verification
- • Service capability for Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, Tzaneen
