The service provider must perform a once-off comprehensive major service, inspection, testing and condition assessment of an existing diesel standby generator at iThemba LABS, 92 Empire Road, Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Work includes: draining and replacing engine oil with manufacturer-recommended oil; replacing engine oil filter; replacing primary and secondary fuel filters and bleeding fuel system; inspecting and cleaning or replacing air filter; inspecting fuel lines, hoses and connections; checking coolant level and condition, inspecting radiator and replacing coolant as needed; inspecting and adjusting or replacing fan and alternator belts; general engine inspection for leaks and abnormal conditions; inspecting and cleaning battery terminals and verifying charging system function; inspecting control panel operation, wiring, indications and generator electrical connections; testing emergency stop and alarm/shutdown functions; checking automatic start/stop and mains-failure changeover operation; running generator under load and recording voltage, current, frequency, engine temperature and operating condition; cleaning engine compartment, radiator area, filters and accessible components; providing a service report with work performed, parts replaced, test results and identified defects; and once-off exhaust repairs. Service must be carried out by competent personnel with proven experience in industrial diesel generators including engine servicing, electrical/control systems, automatic changeover systems and load testing. Bidder must provide evidence of successfully completed comparable major service or maintenance project within past three years, with client references. Compulsory site visit required 15 October 2026 at 11:00 am. Delivery required after Purchase Order. Payment terms 30 days from invoice date.
