Privacy Policy

TargetTenders matches South African businesses to government tenders they qualify for, on the website at targettenders.co.za and in the TargetTenders Android app. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You can reach us at support@targettenders.co.za.

• Your account: your email address, your name if you give it, and the sign-in codes we email you.
• Your business profile: the trades and provinces you choose, your CIDB grade, BBBEE level, certifications, keywords, contract size and the description of your business you give us.
• How you use TargetTenders: the tenders you open, the bid documents you download, the tenders you mark as bidding on and the checklist items you tick.
• Payments: on the website, Paystack processes your card or bank payment and we receive the payment reference, amount, and your card brand and last four digits. In the Android app, Google Play processes the payment and we receive the order number, the product and its status. We never see or store your full card number.
• Email activity: whether our emails were delivered, opened or clicked, so we can stop sending what you do not read.
• Notifications: if you turn on alerts on your phone or browser, a notification address issued by your browser or device, so we can send them.
• Website analytics: on the website we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which record pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location, and how pages are used, including recordings of clicks and scrolling. They use cookies.

• To match tenders to your business and show you which ones you qualify for.
• To send your tender alerts, deadline and briefing reminders, and account emails.
• To send notifications you have turned on.
• To take payments and give you what you paid for.
• To keep the service secure, fix problems and improve it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

We share information only with the providers that run parts of the service for us:

• Supabase (database and sign-in)
• Vercel (website hosting)
• Resend (sending email)
• Paystack (website payments)
• Google (Play Store payments, Google Analytics, and delivering notifications)
• Microsoft (Clarity website analytics)

Each processes it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Our database is in Germany, and our hosting, email and analytics providers operate in other countries, including the United States. These countries have data protection laws, and our providers are bound to protect your information to a standard at least equal to POPIA.

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account, business profile, matches, saved tenders, unlocked tenders and notification settings straight away. We keep our record of payments, and of the emails we sent you, separate from any account: payment records for five years because South African tax law requires it, and email records to show what was sent and to keep unsubscribed addresses unsubscribed.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@targettenders.co.za. You can stop our emails with the unsubscribe link in any of them, and turn notifications off in your settings or your phone's settings. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

Your information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with providers that protect it with access controls and encryption. Sign-in uses one-time codes sent to your email, so we never hold a password for you.

TargetTenders is a service for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
