About this tender
Eskom seeks expressions of interest for engineering, supply, training and support of Protection, Control and Substation Automation Equipment (Hitachi and IST product ranges) including swing frame panels and PIU junction boxes for Distribution over 4 years.

What you need to qualify for this tender
- • Must be able to take over responsibility for previously developed designs
- • Must comply with design intent: Hitachi and IST protection relays (GE and Hitachi systems)
- • Must deliver completed schemes within 14 weeks of order
- • Must provide training as required
- • Must provide technical product support, spares and service guarantees
- • Must sign Non-Disclosure Agreement to access engineering drawings
- • Professional/Certified ECSA-registered electrical engineer with 7 years experience required
- • Candidate ECSA-registered electrical engineer with 2 years experience required
- • Project Manager with 3 years electrical experience required
- • Junior draughtsperson with 4 years technical experience required
- • Ability to configure secondary plant equipment (RED670, RED615, REF620, RIO600, RET670, REB670, REC670 IEDs)
- • Ability to integrate line differential relays (GE L90, SEL411L, Siemens 7SL87)
- • Substation gateway and HMI configuration capability
Tender description
Expression of Interest pertaining to the engineering, supply, training and support of a previously developed range of Protection, Control and Substation Automation Equipment (predominantly based on the Hitachi (Pty) Ltd and IST range of products) with the associated swing frame panels and PIU Junction Boxes to Eskom Distribution over a period of up to four (4) years. It is Eskom’s expectation that the previous design intent will be sustained, in terms of the overall system architecture, brand and types of IEDs utilized, guarantees and the provision of training and product support
