Live Work Maintenance and Emergency Repairs, HV Network 44–132 kV, Eskom

The contractor will provide maintenance and emergency repair services for live works on Eskom's high-voltage (HV) sub-transmission network operating at 44 kV, 66 kV, 88 kV, and 132 kV. Work is not limited to: replacement of all insulator types; spray washing of insulators; replacing cross arms and poles on 66–88 kV lines; stubbing damaged or rotten poles on 132 kV five-pole structures; bonding cross arms on 66–132 kV H-poles and five-poles; making and breaking jumpers; repairing conductors at midspan and jumpers on 66–132 kV lines; installing or replacing vibration dampers; removing bird nests; installing bird protectors and aircraft warning spheres; stringing conductors over energized lines using live work methods; removing, re-stringing and joining damaged earth wire; installing and replacing stay wire. The work is located in the Northern Cape Gemma Cluster. The contractor must comply with extensive safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements including Eskom's life-saving rules, hazard assessments, safe work procedures, personal protective equipment standards, incident investigation protocols, and statutory appointments. The contractor remains fully accountable for the quality and execution of their health and safety programme and all applicable legislation compliance.
