About this tender
IDT seeks a design and build (turnkey) contractor for demolition and construction of prefabricated housing units at Hawequa and Obiqua Correctional Centres. Mandatory requirements include CIDB Grade 3 GB or higher, NHBRC registration, COIDA/DoL letter, professional indemnity insurance, and compulsory attendance at two site briefings on 04 August 2026.

What you need to qualify for this tender
- • Valid and active CIDB grading of 3 GB or higher (or equivalent combined grading for JV)
- • Duly signed Letter of Authority
- • Valid COIDA or Letter of good standing with Department of Labour/FEM (not applicable to sole proprietors; each JV/Consortium company must submit)
- • Letter of intent signed by contractor and professional team
- • Letter of intent for performance guarantee to value of 10% of construction amount (from licensed insurance company or registered bank)
- • Valid and active Professional Registration of required professionals (Architect, Structural Engineer, Professional Technologist/Engineer, OHSM)
- • Letter of Intent for Professional Indemnity Insurance (minimum R500,000 per discipline from licensed FSP)
- • JV Agreement/Contract signed by all parties (if applicable)
- • Attendance at compulsory briefing meeting (both sites: Hawequa on 04 August 2026 at 10h00 and Obiqua on 04 August 2026 at 13h00)
- • Confirmation of receipt of addenda to bid documents (if applicable)
- • Completed and signed Enterprise Questionnaire
- • Directors in State service: letter from AO/AA confirming no prohibition under PAMA s.8 and (if applicable) permission to perform other remunerative work
- • Certified ID copies of directors not older than 3 months from tender closing date
- • Completed and signed form of offer and acceptance
- • SBD 1 (Invitation to Bid) fully completed and signed
- • SBD 4 (Bidder's Disclosure) fully completed and signed
- • SBD 6.1 (Preference Points Claim Form) fully completed and signed
- • Certificate of Acquaintance with Tender Documentation
- • CIPC documents (individual documents for each JV/Consortium company)
- • Proof of CSD registration (individual for each Consortium company; combined for JV companies)
- • Valid Tax Compliance Letter with unique PIN (at award stage)
- • Realistic, well-structured project programme in acceptable project management computer software (at award stage)
- • Detailed Health and Safety Plan aligned to project requirements (at award stage)
